"Captain America: Civil War" Cast and Plot Revealed!

Image via BuzzFeed

If you thought that you would have to wait until Avengers: Infinity War to see the team in action once again, guess again. The official cast for Captain America: Civil War has been revealed and it is looking mightier than Thor himself. Let's rundown the announced cast: Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, all of which have been with us since the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then we have the new members of the team with Anthony Mackie returning as Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch, and Don Cheadle as War Machine. This will be the second movie in a row in which we will get to see Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and the first time we will see Chad Boseman as Black Panther, before getting his own movie in 2018. Sebastian Stan will be returning as the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes. Emily VanCamp will be back as Agent 13, as well as Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow, a.k.a. Crossbones. They're even bringing back William Hurt as General Ross, and he has been nowhere to be seen since 2008's The Incredible Hulk! Rounding out the cast are newcomers Daniel Bruhl, who will play the villain Baron Zemo, and Martin Freeman in an unspecified role. While nothing has been confirmed, and no actor has been cast, it is believed that Spider-man will make his first appearance as part of the MCU due to his major role in the Civil War comics. It is impossible to tell how big each character's role will be but so far the cast looks incredible.

Marvel released a synopsis for the film alongside the cast list and it reads as follows: “Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain." From the sound of this synopsis, it doesn't appear as if the movie will follow the exact same plot as the comic book. Instead it seems like the superhero team will be split into two sides and will battle it out until it is time to put their differences aside to defeat the big, bad villain. I would personally prefer to see the movie devoted entirely to the intricate relationship between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark but it appears it won't be that way. Either way, this will still probably be a kick-ass movie that could stand as a third Avengers film.

First Teaser Trailer for Pixar's "The Good Dinosaur"

Image via GalleryHip The first teaser trailer for Disney-Pixar's The Good Dinosaur  has been released and it hit all the right notes. As most teaser trailers, this one didn't show too much. In fact, the first half of the trailer is spent looking at meteors in space. Yet about halfway through, we are asked what would have happened if the meteor that killed the dinosaurs never actually hit the planet, and then we get our first look at dinosaurs from the film as they casually look up from their food to see the meteor shoot by over their heads. After that scene, we are shown a bunch of action shots from Arlo and Spot's (our protagonists) adventure. There is no dialogue in this teaser and we never get a clear shot of our heroes. In fact, the one real shot we get of them comes at the very end and it comes in the form of a side shot as they are running through a mountain. But even though this teaser is very limited, it kept me smiling all throughout it. More importantly t...

Film Review: "Truth or Dare"

Imagine that you could take the concepts of  Final Destination and  It Follows , blend them together and then aim the end product at millennials. Make that film PG-13 and you basically get  Truth or Dare .  Truth or Dare is the latest film to come out of the Blumhouse production company, which is the same company behind last years horror mega-hit,  Get Out . While Blumhouse is responsible for giving audiences some of the very best horror films of the decade ( Get Out ,  Hush and  Sinister , among others), they have also put out films that are fun even if they aren’t very good.  Truth or Dare falls somewhere within the latter.              The film sees Lucy Hale as Olivia, a college student who embarks on the final Spring Break of her life as a student and takes a trip down to Mexico to celebrate. Joining her is her best friend,...

Guillermo del Toro: The Man Behind the Monsters

"Since childhood, I've been faithful to monsters. I have been saved and absolved by them. Because monsters, I believe, are patron saints of our blissful imperfection. They allow and embody the possibility of failing and living." Those were the words that Guillermo del Toro spoke after winning his first Golden Globe for his directorial work on The Shape of Water . It was a speech that I connected with and understood completely. With the Oscars coming up, I want to say a few words on what Guillermo del Toro and his films mean to me and why I am rooting for him to win the Best Director award at the Academy Awards.              Growing up, my parents never really censored what my brothers and I saw on TV or at the movies. As a result, I was exposed to many of the great horror films at an extremely young age. Slashers were a constant in our home. Despite how much they scared me, they also fascinated me. Slashers were the norm for...
